Ph.D. programme

IOB has been recognized as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), India. The Faculty at IOB are recognized as Ph.D. guides by Manipal University in Manipal and Kuvempu University in Shimoga. IOB currently has 7 Ph.D scientists, 9 registered Ph.D students and 6 students whose Ph.D registrations underway with Manipal University or Kuvempu University. Because of a close collaboration of IOB with the Johns Hopkins University, 4 Ph.D. students and 2 Faculty scientists are carrying out their research work in Dr. Akhilesh Pandey's laboratory at the McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic Medicine at Johns Hopkins University.
