We have collaborations with the following institutions in India and abroad.

Institute of Bioinformatics has a very effective collaboration with McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA. Together, we have developed databases, used comparative genomics for genome analysis and also developed bioinformatics tools for data analysis. This model of collaboration was hailed by Nature Genetics in its editorial of April 2005.

IOB has just initiated collaboration with the RIKEN Centre for Allergy and Immunology (RCAI) in Yokohama, Japan to study immune signaling pathways for primary immunodeficiency diseases.

IOB has collaborated with Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology (KMIO), Bangalore for studying genomics of gastrointestinal cancers.

IOB has collaboration with the Computational Biology Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA for a signaling pathway project involving human cancers.

A memorandum of understanding signed with the laboratory of Dr. Arul Chinnaiyan in the Department of Pathology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA has resulted into a very valuable database 'Oncomine', which is based on publicly available cancer microarray studies.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the University of Southern Denmark and the Institute of Bioinformatics for collaborative research projects and an exchange of scientists between these two institutions.

Human Proteome Organisation has provided a grant to IOB that has led to the development of Plasma Protein Database as part of its unique International Plasma Proteome Project.

IOB has collaborated with Genotypic Technology (P), Ltd., Bangalore for mciroarray technology and data transfer.

IOB has collaborated with Mahiti, Bangalore, for the development of user interface design.

The Institute of Bioinformatics has collaborated with Synapse, a not-for-profit organization located in Goa, India, for developing cutting edge educational and graphic visualization tools in the areas of genomics and proteomics to assist in the analysis and understanding of the human genome.
