Institute of Bioinformatics has a passion for excellence which is translated into successful implementation of international projects in the fields of Genomics and Proteomics. In a span of five years, Institute of Bioinformatics has evolved itself into a premier research institute.

Scientists working at the Institute of Bioinformatics are involved in research using cutting edge technolgies in the field of bioinformatics, genomics and proteomics. Researchers will be authors/co-authors on publications resulting from their projects.

To reward its brilliant and hard working researchers, IOB has started a doctoral programme. Manipal University & Kuvempu University have granted affiliation to IOB for the conduct of Ph.D. programme. So far 14 researchers working with IOB have been registered for this programme.

We are seeking qualified and committed candidates with keen interest in cutting-edge research in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology for the following position to actively engage them in ongoing research activities.

Faculty Scientist

A) Applicants should have a strong theoretical background, as well as previous research experience in at least one of these areas: Molecular Biology, Cancer genetics/genomics or Biochemistry including animal cell culture.
B) Applicants must have a Ph.D. with publications in journals of international repute.
C) Applicants must have strong interpersonal communication skills to work independently or in a team. Candidates should also possess proven abilities in scientific writing.

Responsibilities of the successful candidate include independent as well as collaborative research in areas including, but not limited to, Molecular biology, Genomics and Proteomics. He/She will also be expected to write research proposals to various national and international funding agencies.

Salary is not a constraint for the right candidate.

Deserving candidates will be called for a written test followed by an interview the same day. Candidates are also advised to come prepared to give an oral presentation with slides made in MS PowerPoint. During interview, the candidates may be asked to make oral presentations on the topic of their prior research work.
